Updates

It has been a while since the last post, but we have been working on several projects over the summer and fall terms. At Brewer Library on the Decatur campus, our wooden shelves have been cleaned and refinished, we have added a Ready Reference collection for the most frequently used reference materials and relocated the Reference section, there are new tables and chairs in the VIP Room, Periodicals have been weeded, and we have been shifting books and relabeling in the stacks to make better use of available shelving space as well as making it easier for you to find the materials you need. Like Brewer Library’s 23 seat Library Instruction Room, the LRC is using their Multi-Media Room equipped with 31 student computers to provide classes with instruction in using library resources.

New books are arriving and a few books that were in bad shape or had out of date information have left. Collection development is a never-ending process to keep the library as useful to you as possible. Some things have changed, but as always the library staff is available to help you in your search for information. Please don’t hesitate to ask us for assistance; it’s the reason we’re here.

Speaking of the library staff, we are pleased to welcome two recent additions: Ann Jones in technical services and Lydia Felts in circulation, both on the Decatur campus.

Also, please note our schedule changes for the week of Thanksgiving:

November 24-26

7:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.

November 27-30

Closed

This schedule applies to both locations.
