What a difference a decade makes

A recent article explores the massive increases in data usage that have occured over the last decade.

From Forbes.com:

All around us is evidence that we’ve been living in a decade ruled by 1’s and 0’s. A household in the U.S. is now 10 times more likely to have a broadband connection than in 2000…

–Number of text messages sent in the U.S. per day in June 2000: 400,000

–Number of text messages sent in the U.S. per day in June 2009: 4.5 billion…

–Number of pages indexed by Google in 2000: 1 billion

–Number of pages indexed by Google in 2008: 1 trillion
