Britannica Online Academic Edition

From Britannica Digital Learning:

We began previewing the new Britannica Online Academic Edition in April. The response to the new, more engaging interface and enhanced search and discovery has been overwhelmingly positive.  Now this improved site is ready to go live.

Starting on Monday, September 20th, when you access www.search.eb.com, you will be sent directly to the new Britannica Online. Among the improvements you’ll see:

  • Powerful search capabilities to help users find the content they need Robust new article pages with related content and rich media integrated with each article
  • An enhanced Workspace for saving content in one place that is easy to access and share with others
  • “Suggest Edit” feature that allows users to suggest edits to Britannica articles or create new articles to be considered by Britannica editors for publication
  • “Article History” and “Contributors” features allow users to track changes to Britannica articles and get recognition for all accepted edits and additions they make to Britannica

Highlights of these improvements are included in this short introductory video:  Britannica Video
