Research with Wikipedia

When it comes to scholarly research, Wikipedia has been called “A Great Place to Start—A Terrible Place to End” and Wikipedia supports this view, noting their own strengths and weaknesses:

This page in a nutshell: You should not use Wikipedia by itself for primary research (unless you are writing a paper about Wikipedia).

Researchers should always be cautious, use good judgment, and verify the credibility of information.  Calhoun’s Libraries provide access to scholarly works and peer-reviewed journals as well as Librarians trained in directing you to credible sources of information.
