Custom Textbooks

Textbooks, in both digital and print formats, have more options for customization than ever before.  With price being an ever-present concern for students, textbooks designed to contain only the material the instructor intends to cover in a term could go a long way toward alleviating some of the fear and frustration.

“The question now is whether customization could move into the mainstream, ending the one-size-fits-all model of textbook publishing.”

  1. Has there been much activity, concerning these tailored down and cheaper versions of textbooks? How would we as students keep up with which instructors are using them? -Maybe during sign in class descriptions. This is of great interest to me because I am working poor with no access to grants. Paying out of pocket is rough.
