21% of American adults read e-books

Pew Research has released statistics showing that 21% of adult Americans have read an e-book in the past year.  This is an increase from 17% the previous year.

Not surprisingly, e-books are popular among people who already read regularly.  Most readers of digital content also read print content and 30% of people who read e-books are reading more now than in the past.

Read Pew’s Summary of Findings for more details.
