From the Head Librarian:
In response to the closing of International Paper in Courtland, the Alabama Virtual Library asked vendors who agreed to donate free access to a number of online employment resources not licensed by the Alabama Virtual Library (AVL).
As a result, online databases for job seekers, entrepreneurs, small business owners and related subjects such as demographics are available on the AVL Web site courtesy of Gale, ProQuest and EBSCO beginning January 6 and running through March 31, 2014. Some of these new online resources complement academic and technical programs at Calhoun.
The AVL is geo-authenticated and Alabama residents should be able to access the AVL resources from off campus without a Username and Password unless you live close to a state border where you may not be recognized as an Alabama resident. Everyone has access to the AVL Web site when accessing databases from a Calhoun campus computer (Huntsville and Decatur campuses).
Read descriptions of the employment databases here: http://www1.avl.lib.al.us/employmentresources/employmentdatabases.php
Access the databases under ‘Employment Resources’ from the Alabama Virtual Library Web site. Link found in opening paragraph: http://www.avl.lib.al.us/resources/display_resources.php
