Tree Book Display in Brewer Library

From Calhoun’s Bulletin:

Before summer slips into fall and the luscious display of green leaves turn to yellow and orange and red, the Campus USA Tree Advisory Committee invites you to browse the display of books about ‘trees’ located on a special shelf near the front of Brewer Library, Decatur campus.

Some of the books on display include: Ginkgo: The Tree That Time Forgot by Peter Crane; The Life of a Leaf by Steven Vogel; Seeing Trees: Discover the Extraordinary Secrets of Everyday Trees by Nancy Ross Hugo; and the most recent edition of The Sibley Guide to Trees by David Allen Sibley.

Ronnie Sims, Chair, and the Tree Campus USA Advisory Committee are planning a service learning fall event to celebrate trees as the Committee ensures that the campus meets the Five Standards required in a proposal for the Decatur Cam-pus to be named a ‘Tree Campus USA 2014’!
